It's a motivation to men and women to stay in the fight, to keep pushing, and to keep God first! Reading poem after poem the content touches your heart, and I believe this is a book that everyone should read. Marina shows appreciation for the every day black man, the famous black man, her grandfather, and those men that are around, but are just not known. These lyrical praises capture the essence of African-American men that are not shown enough. Marina brings to life the sides of these men that are oftentimes not acknowledged but downplayed by the media and society.
